UNCHARTED VISION

We see Turning Point disciples who are growing in strong faith. We see our church family boldly sharing Christ with 30,000 people in our city and we see baptizing 3,000 people who have said “Yes” to Jesus. And, with our spiritual growth and generosity...
we see expanding our facilities to house a great move of God.

The Vision:
Uncharted Re-launch

UNCHARTED
AN ABOVE AND BEYOND COMMITMENT
Uncharted, our two-year initiative focused on spiritual growth and generosity, originally began as a “one fund” campaign. The goal was to have donors contribute to a centralized fund that would resource our ministry budget for two years, finance the construction of a new auditorium, reduce debt by paying off our office building, and support our mission partners and projects. However, with the exciting decision to purchase the Cinemark building for a second church location, we shifted our approach to a more familiar fund-raising strategy - a “two fund” approach.
A “two fund” campaign creates a dual track for supporting God’s work through Turning Point. The first fund, “Tithes and Offerings,” will support the ongoing work of the church by resourcing our ministries and operational expense. This is sometimes called the “general fund” and is an unrestricted donation. The second fund is “Uncharted,” which will be a designated giving opportunity that will resource the purchase and renovation of the Cinemark Theater for our new “West” location. In addition to that project, Uncharted donations will also support our mission partners as well as our debt reduction strategy.
A NEW DIRECTION
WHAT DOES “ABOVE AND BEYOND” MEAN
Sometimes during a financial campaign someone might switch their giving from supporting the “general budget” to a new designated project, in our case “Uncharted.” While anyone has the freedom to do so, our encouragement is to use the Uncharted initiative to grow in generosity by maintaining routine giving to “Tithes and Offerings” and then give above and beyond that amount with specific donations to “Uncharted.”
As an experienced giver, this is a familiar and impactful way to give. For those who are newer to giving, this approach can be equally helpful as it can provide a means for training increased faith and generosity. For help on getting started with generosity, we’ve provided a Giving Guide that you can utilize as part of the Uncharted campaign.
